Port of Gävle signs 15-year agreement with St1

Port of Gävle has signed a new 15-year agreement with energy company St1, effective from 1 July 2026. The agreement creates long-term stability and predictability for both parties and provides a strong foundation for continued cooperation at the Port of Gävle.

The agreement covers areas for terminal and port operations and clarifies the framework for St1’s use of Port of Gävle’s land, facilities and infrastructure over time.

“With a long-term agreement in place, we have a clear and stable foundation for our continued cooperation. St1 is an important operator in the Port of Gävle, and we look forward to continuing to develop together,” says Fredrik Svanbom, CEO of Port of Gävle.

Long-term conditions for continued cooperation

For St1, the agreement means a long-term presence in a port that is important for the company’s energy logistics and continued development.

“A long-term agreement with Port of Gävle gives us a stable foundation for continuing to invest in and develop our operations in Gävle. It provides both planning certainty and flexibility in an energy market that is undergoing change,” says Mattias Paulsson, Head of Business Development, Energy Trade & Logistics at St1.

The Port of Gävle plays an important role in St1’s logistics flows and serves as a key hub for energy supply. As the transition towards more sustainable energy solutions continues, St1 sees Gävle as a long-term platform for further development.
