The final inspection of the Food Inspection Facility at Port of Gävle has been completed.
Port of Gävle will now be one of few places in Sweden that can carry out Food Inspections for the Swedish Food Agency (other examples where such facilities can be found are Arlanda airport, Port of Gothenburg, Port of Helsingborg, and Port of Norvik).
Goods that will be checked via Port of Gävle:
- Food of animal origin
- Food of vegetable origin
The goal of the regulations for imports is to detect and exclude goods that may be a risk to human and animal health.
After passing the final inspection, the facility will be ready to start handling goods in July.
