Happy news from the Energy Agency, which has granted Gävle Energi financial support of SEK 12 million, to build charging stations for heavy goods transports outside Port of Gävle.
It was during the spring that Gävle Hamn AB and Gävle Energi developed an electrification pilot which was submitted to the Energy Agency. An electrification pilot for heavy transport is a support that will speed up the electrification of freight transport in Sweden. The requirement to receive support is that the charging station must be completed by autumn 2023 at lates and as a recipient of support, share our lessons learned and information from the use.
The announcement represents a major step in the environmental direction to make the heavy traffic fossil-free. Gävle Energi will place three charging points outside the port. As Central Sweden’s largest logistics hub where shipping, rail and road transport meet, Port of Gävle hopes that this will have a great effect and contribute to the continued development in growing sustainably.
