Port history is now being written. The first delivery rolled into the world-unique paper magazine today. 400 rolls on the first arriving train.
“Today, just a few weeks after the completion of the magazine, the first train rolls in. We hope and believe that more customers will choose a flexible export arrangement that the port of Gävle from now on can offer through this magazine. This is just the beginning of our work to meet the industry’s demand for sustainable logistics solutions”, says Fredrik Svanbom, CEO, Port of Gävle.
And now the paper magazine is also nominated for the 2020 Logistics Establishment of the year award.
“Through smart logistics and automation, Yilport Nordic and Gävle Hamn AB want to attract paper producers to Gävle. The new, 11,000 square meter, fully automated magazine for the several-ton rolls will shorten lead times and increase storage capacity for the paper mills in the region.”
